Product Description And History
“Player” series Side Story. The side stories of the “Player” series explore the characters of both the East and the West from a broader perspective, allowing us to jointly understand the more macroscopic history of world civilization. When the elite force of the Southern Song Dynasty, the Yue Army, advanced northward to resist the iron cavalry of the Jin Dynasty, the European Crusaders of the same period launched an eastern campaign that lasted for 200 years. Whether it was the Beiwei Army, the Iron Pagoda, or the Crusaders, they all represented the glory of the heavy cavalry at that time. This product particularly adopts magnetic splicing technology. The armor and limbs can be disassembled and assembled, making it highly playable.
In 1095, Pope Urban II issued his call to arms at the Council of Clermont: “Let those who have been accustomed to private warfare now fight for Christ!” Thousands of noble knights broke their swords before the altar, forging the fragments into crosses as they vowed to reclaim the Holy Land.
In 1097, Godfrey of Bouillon led 500 heavy knights across the Hungarian plains. Clad in 40kg chainmail with specially crafted horse armor, their equipment required a team of 20 blacksmiths for daily maintenance, according to campaign records.
During the 1098 Siege of Antioch, knights were forced to slaughter their warhorses for food. The Gesta Francorum records how Tancred gave his last steed to foot soldiers before leading a sword charge on foot that finally breached the walls.
On July 15, 1099, Count Raymond’s heavy cavalry stormed Jerusalem. Eyewitnesses recounted: “The clang of iron-shod hooves on Temple Mount’s steps drowned out the screams.” After the battle, knights’ armor was permanently stained dark red with dried blood.
The 1120-established Templars created strict Cavalry Regulations:
1.Each knight must maintain three warhorses
2.Shields were forbidden to maximize charge impact
3.Two full-armor charge drills weekly were mandatory
At the 1187 Battle of Hattin, 200 Templars made their final suicide charge. Modern excavations reveal their skeletons still in formation, many with helmets and skulls cleft by Muslim scimitars in single blows.
Today, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta continues crusader traditions. During 2016 Syrian relief missions, their ambulances still bore the same red cross insignia used eight centuries ago.
